Learn how to facilitate inclusive meetings and group conversations that improve tolerance for uncertainty and address hot spots, where everybody—regardless of rank, background or identity— can participate and feel supported.

Teams in today’s workplace environments struggle with how to navigate differences of all kinds.  Learning how to facilitate group conversations, meetings and events where everyone feels able to participate is a cornerstone of psychological safety and workplace respect. This course will teach and enhance facilitation tips around process, content and logistics, as well as how to navigate differences of identity and rank which can escalate and create further divisions if left untended.

You will learn:

  • Understand complexity and develop comfort with uncertainty in group situations;
  • The crucial difference between psychological safety and a safe space, and how to discern conflict from harm;
  • Best practices in the areas of group process, facilitating content and managing logistics;
  • Personal triggers in group conflict situations and how to use de-escalation techniques effectively;
  • Techniques to manage conflict before, during and after a facilitated group process;
  • To “name and frame” hot spot moments that arise in group situations, de-escalating these inevitable moments of polarization.
