Dear Parent,

Welcome to the Anima Leadership Focus Group selection page. You are invited to participate in a focus group as part of a research study about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at Branksome Hall.  Our purpose in asking you to join us for a conversation is to help Branksome Hall understand the student experience and the ways in which it can be more diverse, equitable and inclusive.

This study is being conducted by Anima Leadership on behalf of Branksome Hall. Participants will attend an online focus group session with facilitators from Anima Leadership. See the consent form [LINK] to learn more about how your identity and the information you share is protected.

We will be hosting a focus group that is open to all parents. Additionally, we will be hosting a focus group reserved for Black-identified participants to share their experience of diversity, equity and inclusion at Branksome Hall. Our priority is to ensure that no identifying information will be included in the report.

We require a minimum of three participants in order for the group to run and encourage all those interested to complete the form. In the event that we experience low numbers the day of the focus group and if the participants agree, we will host a shorter interview to ensure we capture participants’ voices.

The focus group sessions will be audio recorded only for the purpose of ensuring we are precise in the information we collect. The recordings will not be shared with anybody outside the research team at Anima Leadership. The recordings will only be used for the purposes of creating data summaries and will be deleted once the project is complete in Spring 2022.

The focus groups will take about 90-120 minutes and will take place:

  • Black Community Focus Group (for parent/guardians who identify as being of Black descent including Bi-racial and Multi-racial individuals) – November 23rd, 6pm
  • Open to all Focus Group (for any parent/guardian who wishes to speak about their experiences of inclusion) – December 8, 6pm

If you have questions about the confidentiality or the audit process, please contact James Beaton, Director of Research and Special Projects at Anima Leadership at for more information.

By agreeing to participate in this focus group, you are consenting to participate in this study and have read and understood the Informed Consent letter [INSERT LINK TO LETTER].

Please note that there are limited spots for participation and to ensure richness of conversation we are keeping participant numbers per group between 8-12 parents/guardians.
