This program is an attempt to transform some of the deeply dysfunctional dynamics that are impacting the quality of healthcare services as well as the relationships and personal health of those working in this system. This program offers an innovative and emerging vision of leadership: a leadership of interdependence that is based on building strong relationships – to ourselves, to others and to the organizations we are part of. Current leading-edge research indicates that our EQ, our emotional intelligence, is the single most important factor in effective leadership and staff teams: the ability to be aware of one’s own emotional reactions; to empathize with others; to speak the truth even in difficult situations; to dialogue about differences and to transform conflicts into opportunities. The potential for both individual and systemic change by adapting and offering these skills is enormous.
